ACCT 201 Principles of Accounting I
Students are introduced to the basic principles and concepts of accounting in this course. Accounting and the business environment, accounting systems, recording business transactions, financial statements, the accounting cycle, merchandising operations, merchandise inventory, accounting information systems, internal control and cash, receivables, plant assets and intangibles, current assets and liabilities and payroll are studied in depth.

CS 306 Database Management
An introduction to fundamental concepts in the design and implementation of modern database management systems, with a focus on relational database systems, Topics include: entity-relationship and relational approaches to data modeling, database design theory, structured query processing with the SQL language, storage organization, indexing techniques. In addition to these traditional topics, the course also covers a sample of emerging topics, such as XML, distributed databases, and data mining.

IE 405 Decision Analysis
Decision making is a challenge under uncertainty, incomplete information where multiple objectives, subjective judgement and preferences are involved. In organizational and individual decisions, presence of all these complicating factors is common. Decision analysis offers decision makers a set of tools to help, (1) structure decision problems and generate creative alternatives, (2) quantify uncertainty, (3) quantify subjective judgement, and, (4) combine all this in an optimal choice model. The course will introduce basic concepts and skills necessary to deal with such decision making problems.

Projects are all the work that is done one time, and ongoing operations represent the work we do over and over. These two types of work require different management approaches and techniques. 60 Days Internship
Students will spend a minimum of 6 weeks (30 working days) in an organization in industry / business / government sector to obtain practical experience on topics related to Industrial Engineering. At the end of the summer practice, students will write a technical report and submit it to their advisor.
