Here are the results of the 2013-2014 SPIUS Meeting which has been held on 16.05.2013 at 5 p.m. for Faculty Student Council Assembly, at 6 p.m. for SPIUS Assembly in order to hold elections for Faculty Student Councils and SPIUS bodies.

Pursuant to Article 25 of the Statute of the Student Parliament of the International University of Sarajevo, and according to Election Procedure (SPA-34/13), the 2013 SPIUS Elections at International University of Sarajevo for each study program and English Language School has been held on Friday, 26.04.2013. According to Decision (SPC-42/13) adopted by Supreme Election Commission, a repeat election for Architecture Department was held on 09.05.2013. Abdulsamet Kasranoglu: 50 votes
Please note that according to Article 9 of the Election Procedure ``Should there be any complaints, these are to be handed in hard copies officially to QA Office not later than three days" (Monday, 13.05.2013, 17:30) "after the elections. The complaint must contain elaboration of the issue and all the relevant proofs. The Supreme Election Commission, made of SPIUS President, QA Office Manager and Secretary General, will discuss the complaint and make final decision in appropriate form, including annulment of elections.``

This student organization is established as a non-governmental, voluntary, non-party association of students. SPIUS represents the interests of all the students of IUS. Basic operational principles of SPIUS are: respect of differences and different attitudes, thoughts and ideas, freedom of choice, independence in its operations, transparency, democracy, responsibility and cooperation. SPIUS is a legal entity.
Regarding Elections, all students have right to vote in these elections. Each student can vote for the candidates to represent their own study program. Election will be conducted for each study program. Before application, please read the election procedure carefully and be aware of condition and criteria for being candidacy, please clik here.

We congratulate our IR student Mr. Halil Bay for his publication in prestigeous journal, Insight Turkey. In 2012 Spring semester he prepared this published piece as a book review assignment for Foreign Policy Analysis course. It was so good that Professor Mehmet Ozkan encauraged him to re-work on it for a possible publication. And finally it has been published. We expect his success will be considered at our university as a waterhed event not only taking the assignments seriously but also a possible publication that students can benefit in their future lives and put on their CVs.

Announcement for the students who are entitled to take make-up exam !!!
» Students who are eligible to take the final exam* for any course in Fall and Spring semester are entitled to take make-up exam for that particular course, if:
a) They did not take the final exam for particular course during the firstly scheduled final exams dates, or
b) They did not pass the final exam (they did not get an overall passing grade).
» A students who believes that he/she has been improperly graded on examination may submit a written appeal to the faculty dean within 24 hours after the grade has been announced to student...
*NOTE: Students can take make-up exam if it is applicable for their class.

Senate Decision as Guidelines on Conditions for Summer School Attendence; May 23, 2012
*Student enrolled for the first time at IUS in the 2011/2012 study year can attend on Summer School only courses which they failed in the study year prior to the Summer School.
*All other students, previously enrolled at IUS can attend courses from their study programs on Summer School.
*Within ummer school, students have the right to take exams and acquire maximum 12 ECTS points (max. 2 courses).

The decision of Senate Meeting on Free Week !!!
The demand of students has been rejected for study/free week before final examination period…
It is going to be classes without holding attendance; which called is "Revision Week".
From now on, we will have free week before finals, and not holding classes during mid-term exam period for the next following semesters.
Note: We might have IUS Summer School as well by 2013 summer.

There is going to be a special presentation in IUS Amphitheatre at 1 p.m. by Isa-beg Ishaković Primary School of Sarajevo, on Thursday, May 24.
There will be a representative ceremony for already given donaitons. In terms of the agreement between SPIUS and Primary School within this context;
- It will be sister school for IUS,
- There will be Turkish Language Course on the academic schedule of this Primary School,
- There will be opportunity to do internship voluntary at this Primary School for IUS Students.
