Computer Science and Engineering Graduate Program
The Graduate degree in Computer Science and engineering program is a terminal degree program designed to prepare students for more highly productive careers in industry. Graduates receive the MS and PhD for completing one of three options in the program as described in the Program of Study. The program is designed for students who possess a BS or MS in computer science from an accredited institution. Students with a BS and MS degree in other than computer science are encouraged to apply as well, with the understanding that they may be required to complete remedial course work in addition to the requirements of the MS and PhD degrees.
The MS and PhD programs in Computer Science begins with research and breadth components. The breadth component is intended to solidify students competency within a variety of computing specializations, as well as core computer science issues. Students must take at least five courses from the different areas of study:
· Computational Science and Engineering
· Computer architecture
· Database systems
· Graphics and visualization
· Information security
· Intelligent Systems
· Learning sciences and technology
· Networking and communications
· Theoretical computer science
