Workshop “Towards the research University in Bosnia and Herzegovina” to be held at IUS
International University of Sarajevo is proud to announce workshop titled “Towards the research University in Bosnia and Herzegovina” that is to be held on Thursday and Friday, March 11 and 12, 2010, beginning at 10.00. The workshop will take place at the recently opened IUS Campus in Ilidža (Hrasnička cesta bb, Sarajevo).
The workshop will be opened by IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hilmi Ünlü, after which a series of presentation by prominent IUS professors will follow. Amongst the many presentations during the first day of the workshop, IUS Graduate Program Coordinator Prof. Dr. Mehmet Can will give speech on scientific activities at IUS, while IUS Deans, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cevat Sarıoğlu, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş will present research potentials in their respective faculties, Dr. Bisera Turković, Former Bosnian Ambassador to USA, Prof. Dr. Hikmet Ucisik, Bogazici University, Turkey and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akşit, University of Twente, Netherlands will speak about their current research activities.
On the second day, more focus will be given to the funding opportunities in the presentations by Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Hadziabdic and Assis. Prof. Dr. Kutluk Özgüven will speak about European Commission Funding, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikret Caliskan will speak on Control Systems Technologies, while Dr. Tuba Boz will talk about “Conducting International Research Case Study: Social Protection among Turkish Residents in Australia and Germany”. The workshop will end with panel discussion “International University of Sarajevo: Towards Research University”.
