IUS hosts round table on Human Capacity Building for the Implementation of the Bologna Process
On Thursday, June 17, 2010, International University of Sarajevo hosted round table “Human Capacity Building for the implementation of the Bologna Process” organized by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Federal Ministry of Education and Science. The round table took place at IUS Amphitheatre on the ground floor.
Having in mind the importance of these types of events, IUS was proud to offer its premises to the Ministry. The round table gathered many academics from both private and state universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as representatives of student organizations, nongovernmental organizations and cantonal ministries of education.
The round table was opened by IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Hilmi Unlu. Other keynote speakers were: Prof. Dr. Stefan Dukandjiev, GOPA Expert for Higher Education, who gave talk on “The Importance of Quality Assurance and Especially of Human Resources Policy for the Implementation of the Bologna Process”; Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahić, Higher Education Reform Expert in BiH “The Importance of Human Resources Building for the Implementation of the Bologna Process”; Terence Clifford-Amos, Bologna Expert from the Canterbury Church University in UK who spoke on “Current Status and Envisaged Human Resources Policy Development in Europe and EU Aspirant Countries”; Boris Ćurković, Deputy Director of HEA BiH “Analysis of Human Capacity Resources Regarding Quality Assurance Compared to EU Countries and BiH” and Prof. Dr. Sc. Nihad Fejzić, Director of the Higher Education Agency of BiH whose presentation was on “Measures Needed for the Full Implementation of the Bologna Process and Harmonization of Scientific and Teaching Staff Quality with European Standards”.
Event ended with a lunch and get-together organized at the IUS main lobby.
