Guidelines and decisions for the 2020-2021 Academic Year

02.09.2020

ANNOUNCEMENT

IUS has adopted the following guidelines and decisions regarding the 2020-2021 Academic Year:

Students who are joining us this academic year starting with the English Language School will have their courses face-to-face on campus, strictly adhering all precautionary measures. These students will also attend a few selected courses on line to familiarize themselves with the elements of IUS distance education.

As appropriate, first-year classes will be conducted face-to-face on campus, strictly adhering all precautionary measures. The courses selected for full face-to-face instruction will be determined and announced by the individual faculties and programs before the start of the semester considering their suitability for on-campus instruction. Some courses will follow a hybrid model, where some students are invited on campus while others attend the classes on line on a rotational basis. International students who are unable to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina will be allowed to follow all classes on line.

Generally speaking, sophomore (second year), junior (third year), and senior (fourth year) classes will be conducted on line, while their laboratories and tutorials will be conducted on campus. As appropriate, some courses will implement a hybrid model where students will be rotated through classes, laboratories, and tutorials. The specifics of instruction will be determined by the individual faculties and programs depending on the individual requirements and constraints of each course. Faculties and programs will announce the details of instruction before the start of the semester. International students who are unable to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina will be allowed to follow all classes on line.

All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and faculty. All students, staff, and faculty must strictly follow the COVID-19 heath regulations.

Any alterations to our educational plans necessitated by developments in the COVID-19 situation will be announced to the students and other stakeholders at least 15 days before they take effect.

This advance announcement will take effect, barring a different decision by the Sarajevo Education and Youth Ministry. IUS will follow the decision of the Ministry regarding on-line or face-to-face instruction.
