Jasmin completed his BSc in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) in 2009 as a member of its first graduating class. He earned his PhD in 2020 from the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering at IUS.

He began his academic career at IUS in 2010 as an Assistant in the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering and was promoted to Senior Assistant in 2014. In 2013, he joined the Research and Development Center (RDC), serving as Vice Manager from 2015 and as Director from 2020 to September 2023. During this period, he contributed significantly to strengthening research and innovation activities at IUS. 

Jasmin has authored and co-authored more than 40 scientific publications, including research articles and book chapters. His research focuses on bioengineering, with particular interests in plant model organisms and human genetic studies.

He currently serves as Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at IUS. In 2025, he was appointed Program Coordinator of the Dental Medicine Program, and since October 2025, he has served as Acting Dean of the newly established Faculty of Medical Sciences at IUS.
