Undergraduate Procedures and Requirements for Admission
Bachelor Studies
- I Cycle -
Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnian students need to submit the following documents:
- Application form where applicants must indicate the faculty and study program he/she applies for
- Original and certified copies of high school diploma and high school grade reports;
- Birth certificate;
- Citizenship certificate;
- CIPS certificate;
- Medical report (not older than 6 months);
- 2 passport size photos;
- TOEFL or IELTS certificates (optional).
International Students
International students need to submit the following documents:
- Application form where applicants must indicate the faculty and study program he/she applies for
- Original high school diploma with apostil stamp and original high school grade reports (with official translation to Bosnian);
- Decision on recognizing/equivalency of a foreign diploma in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- Passport copy not older than 5 years;
- National ID copy;
- Criminal record from the country of origin (officially translated to Bosnian language);
- Medical report (not older than 6 months);
- 4 passport size photos;
- TOEFL or IELTS results (optional).
Important Remarks
High school diploma, high school grade reports, and Police Clearance Certificates have to be translated by the official court translator to Bosnian language if they are originally in some other language. Translated documents are to be submitted, together with all the other documents, to IUS Student Affairs Office in Sarajevo (Hrasnička cesta 15, Ilidža, Sarajevo), or in Istanbul (Feshane Cd. No. 21 Eyup, Istanbul), no later than the end of the enrollment period (as announced in the Public Call) for the particular academic year.
Students cannot begin their study unless they prove their English Language Proficiency. If an applicant does not have TOEFL (paper-based - minimum 500 points or internet-based - minimum 70 points) or IELTS (minimum 6 points) exam, he/she is obliged to take the Placement and Proficiency tests at the English Language School at University.
The enrollment procedure for students coming from visa regime countries starts earlier (app. beginning of July). Shall you need more information please do not hesitate to contact the International Relations Office via e-mail: iro@ius.edu.ba.
Postgraduate Procedures and Requirements for Admission
Master & PhD. Studies
- II and III Cycles-
International Students
International students need to submit the following documents:
- Application form where applicants must indicate the faculty and study program he/she applies for
- Original and certified copy of the diploma for the previous education and Certificate of grades achieved during the studies;
- Official document for recognition of qualification for those who gained their degree outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina showing that candidates completed education adequate for the continuation of studies, or document showing that the recognition procedure has been initiated. In exceptional cases, candidates can be admitted conditionally, before foreign qualification recognition procedure is ended;
- Motivational letter
- Passport copy (with validity period of at least two years);
- Two photos, size 6x4;
- Certificate of no criminal record (not older than six months and only for foreign students who are doing residency permit through IUS services;
- Health Certificate (for foreign students who are not doing residency permit through IUS services);
- Curriculum Vitae
Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnian students need to submit the following documents:
- Application form where applicants must indicate the faculty and study program he/she applies for
- Original and certified copy of the diploma for the previous education and Certificate of grades achieved during the studies;
- Official document for recognition of qualification for those who their degree outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina or document showing that recognition procedure has been initiated. In exceptional cases, candidates can be admitted conditionally, before foreign degree recognition procedure is ended;
- Birth Certificate;
- Certificate of Citizenship;
- Motivational letter
- Two photos, size 6x4;
- Health Certificate;
- CIPS certificate.

Important Remarks
Bachelor diploma, transcript, and Police Clearance Certificate have to be translated by the official court translator to either English or Bosnian Language, if they are originally in some other language. Translated documents are to be submitted together with all other documents to IUS Student Affairs Office in Sarajevo (Hrasnička cesta 15, 71210 Ilidža, Sarajevo), or in Istanbul (Feshane Cd. No. 21 Eyup/İSTANBUL), no later than the end of the official dates for applications (as announced on the website) for that particular Academic Year.

Those whose Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees were obtained outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) are required to apply for diploma validation in B&H before applying for a Master or PhD program at IUS. Only after their previous diploma has been recognized, they can continue studying in B&H.
