Nedim Gavranović holds a PhD in Actuarial Science from City University, CASS Business School in the United Kingdom. His thesis is entitled “Optimal Asset Allocation in a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme”. Nedim has had a distinguished career in actuarial service in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2003, he was elected as the Certified Actuary. In 2005, he was one of the founders of the Actuarial Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was the first President, and currently, he is Vice-president of this Association. He is a frequent presenter at international actuarial conferences and has published a number of papers. His research interests include actuarial and financial mathematics, insurance, risk management, statistics, and econometrics. Nedim has long experience in the insurance industry. During his career, he was appointed actuary for a couple of insurance companies. During the period 2007-2011, he was director of ASA osiguranje d.d., leading the company from green field investment to a well-shaped insurance company with over 100 employees.
