BIOGRAPHY

Hamza Preljević was born on August 14, 1991. in Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He got his bachelor degree in International Relations from the International University of Sarajevo in 2015, where he also defended his master thesis in International Relations in 2016. In period from March 2015 to September 2016 he was a demonstrator at the Faculty of Business and Administration, International University of Sarajevo. On October 2016 Mr. Preljević was appointed at the position of Senior Assistant at the Faculty of Business and Administration, Department of International Relations. He is an associate of the Balkan Studies Center (BSC), whose secretary he became in January 2019. Moreover, since March 2019 he also serves as Managing Editor of Epiphany – Journal of Transdisciplinary Studies – published by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).

His areas of interest are the politics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, issues of Bosnian Muslims, Western Balkan studies, EU integration, and security studies – with an active research focus on various aspects of transatlantic relations and NATO’s relations with the Western Balkans. His referred journal articles and reviews have appeared in several internationally recognized publications, including Insight Turkey, Croatian International Relations Review, Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs and the European Journal of Cultural and Political Sociology. Also, he participated in several expert projects (drawing and constructing research studies, analysis and other project documents).

Mr. Preljević taught on Diplomacy, Foreign Policy Analysis and the Political System of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and assisted on courses Politics in Europe, EU Sysetm, Political Geography and Geopolitics, and Security Studies.  He participated in a significant number of seminars, summer schools, workshops and academic exchanges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovakia, Sweden, France and Turkey. Moreover, he performed a number of administrative duties, and was involved in different committees and professional bodies of the faculty and university.

He is married, and father of two.

Hamza Preljević rođen je 1991. godine u Brčkom. Diplomirao je iz oblasti Međunarodnih odnosa na Internacionalnom univerzitetu u Sarajevu 2015. godine, gdje također brani i magistarski rad iz oblasti Međunarodnih odnosa 2016. godine. Od septembra 2015. godine do septembra 2016. godine radio je kao demonstrator na Fakultetu menadžmenta i javne uprave (FBA).  U zvanje višeg asistenta iz naučne oblasti međunarodnih odnosa biva izabran u septembru 2016. godine na Internacionalnom univerzitetu u Sarajevu. Saradnik je Centara za balkanske studije (BSC), čiji je i sekretar postao u januaru 2019. godine.  Nadalje, od marta 2019. godine obnaša poziciju Izvršnog urednika naučnog žurnala Epiphany – Časopis transdisciplinarnih studija – u izdanju Fakulteta umjetnosti i društvenih nauka (FASS).

Oblasti naučnog interesa su mu: politika Bosne i Hercegovine (BiH), pitanja bosanskih muslimana, zapadnobalkanske studije, evropske integracije i sigurnosne studije – uz istraživački fokus na različitim aspektima transatlantskih odnosa i odnosa NATO-a sa zemljama Zapadnog Balkana. Istraživanja, članke i prikaze knjiga objavljivao je u referentnim naučnim časopisima poput: Insight Turkey, Croatian International Relations Review, Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs, European Journal of Cultural and Political Sociology i drugima. Također, učestvovao je u nekoliko stručnih projekta (izrada studija, analiza i druge projektne dokumentacije).

Bio je predavač na predmetima Diplomatija,  Analiza vanjske politike i Politički sistem BiH, a bio je angažiran i kao asistent na predmetima Politika Evrope, Politička geografija i geopolitika, Sistem Evropske unije, i Sigurnosne studije na Internacionalnom univerzitetu u Sarajevu. Učestvovao je u značajnom broju seminara, ljetnih škola, radionica i akademskih razmjena u Bosni i Hercegovini, Crnoj Gori, Slovačkoj, Švedskoj, Francuskoj i Turskoj. Obavljao je niz administrativnih obaveza, a po imenovanju učestvovao je u radu različitih komisija i stručnih organa na matičnom fakultetu i univerzitetu.

Tečno govori i piše na engleskom jeziku.

Oženjen je i otac dvoje djece.
