The first Sarajevo International Conference on “Global Crisis and Countries in Transition“ by FBA will be held from 19th to 22nd of June, 2014, at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). Aim of the Conference will be recent global economic crisis, growth and economic prospects in transition economies and severe numerous social problems plaguing countries in transition.
For example, inequalities and demographic changes, securing food, supplying water and energy, fighting climate changes and poverty, improving the quality of life and employment, providing public services in a more efficient way. The Conference aims at bringing together international scholars and researchers of economics and other social sciences for countries in transition process, in order to offer a forum for dialogue and exchange of recent research findings and ideas related to the challenges faced by transition countries in the era of global economic crisis.
The keynote speakers are:
- Dr. Barton A. Smith, University of Houston
- Dr. William Bartlett, London School of Economic
In addition to topics above, scholars from a wide range of disciplines are welcome to take part in the conference, including from economics and business studies, political science and international relations, geography, history, law, psychology, cultural studies and other social sciences. Parallel sessions and panels on these areas will be organized. Please submit your special panel requests to Organization Committee via e-mail. Also, for Saturday, June 21st, visit to Mostar and Blagaj has been planned and for Sunday, June 22nd, a visit to the historic “Tunnel of Life” will be organized as well. Activates are optional and appropriate fees will be announced on the Conference website for those who would like to join.
