Clean Green Digital Solution: The Solutions are Already There, so What's the Problem?

The IUS SDG Executive Committee cordially invites you to an upcoming SDG Talk titled: “Clean Green Digital Solution: The Solutions Are Already There, So What’s the Problem?” by Mr. Garret Patrick Kelly, Net Zero Sarajevo Coordinator (EU Commission).

In his talk, Mr. Kelly will explore the paradox of existing climate solutions and the barriers that prevent their widespread implementation. While cities contribute to over 70% of global CO₂ emissions and house 75% of EU citizens, they are also hubs of economic activity, innovation, and technological advancement. Many are taking bold steps toward climate action, yet significant structural challenges remain.

The lecture will introduce the 100 Net Zero Cities Mission—a European Union initiative designed to help cities, including Sarajevo, identify and address the underlying obstacles to large-scale climate action. The ultimate goal: to build better, greener futures for citizens, their children, and the planet.
