Girls in ICT Day Sarajevo 2022
Every year, International Girls in ICT Day is marked annually on the fourth Thursday of April around the world to promote awareness about the emerging importance of digital skills in pursuing successful professional careers in a variety of fields. The initiative aims to build a worldwide environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to pursue studies and careers in the rapidly growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs), allowing both girls and technology companies to benefit from increased female participation.
This year's event on April 28th will be a very special one for us as it will be the very first one to be held at our university. It will be aimed at encouraging and inspiring girls to pursue their aspirations of becoming Information and Communications Technology (ICT) professionals and promoting jobs in the industry. Girls will have the opportunity to meet members from UN Women Bosnia. They will be inspired by success stories and meet global female leaders.
The speakers at the event are Ruth Lennon (Chair of ACM-W Europe), Raquel Martinez (EMEAR Technical Manager, Cisco NetAcademy), Dr. Oleksandra Yeremenko (Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics), Emina Brkanic (Mibo Komunikacije), David Saunders, Bergin Kulenovic and Zerina Mandzo (UN Women). You are all cordially invited.
