A N N O U N C E M E N T - Student Enrollment into the First Year of the Second Study Cycle for 2018/2019 Academic Year

In accordance to Article 79 and 80 of the Law on Higher Education („Official Gazette of the Sarajevo Canton“ No. 33/2017), International University of Sarajevo (IUS) publishes
ANNOUNCEMENT
For the students enrolment into the first year of the second study cycle at the faculties of the International University of Sarajevo for the 2018/2019 academic year
International University of Sarajevo (IUS) plans to enroll 428 students into the first year of the second study cycle for the academic 2018/2019; specifically, 214 students who are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 214 foreign students.  In case  IUS does not enroll planned number of students from Bosnia and Herzegovina into specific study program, IUS reserves the right to enroll additional number of foreign students into that study program, up to the total planed number and vice versa.  Enrollment will be carried out into the following faculties:

Lectures for all study programs are conducted in English language only.  Second cycle study lasts one year; i.e. two semesters and it carries 60 ECTS points;
Annual tuition fees is 3,000.00 euro for all study programs except for the following programs:
- Tuition fee for study program Genetics and Bioengineering is 3,500.00 euro,
- Tuition fee for study program Management is 3,500.00 euro,
- Tuition fee for study program Clinical Psychology is 4,000.00 euro,
Tuition fees are paid in Bosnian Mark calculated per median exchange rate of Central Bank of BiH on the day of payment.
Decision on admission into the second cycle study is adopted by special committee appointed at each Faculty for the purpose of evaluating academic title, the content of previous studies and scientific area in which the candidate did his/her research.  The committee will evaluate how comparable is candidate's previous education and will decide if the Candidate  had to pass additional group of courses to be able to follow lectures of the desired study program, on which candidates will be informed thereof.  After reviewing applications,  IUS can in exceptional cases set interview with the certain candidates and make decision per that application based on that interview.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT
CITIZENCS OF BOSNIA AND HERCZEGOVINA
In order to enroll in the first year of the second study cycle at IUS, applicants who are citizens of B&H must submit the following documents: 
1. Application form in which applicants must indicate the faculty and study program to which he/she applies (available at www.ius.edu.ba or at the Student Affairs Office);
2. Original or certified copy of the diploma for the previous education and Certificate of grades achieved during the studies;
3. Official document for recognition of qualification for those who gained high school degree outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina or document showing that recognition procedure has been initiated.   In exceptional cases, candidates can be admitted conditionally, before foreign high school recognition procedure is ended;
4. CV;
5. Birth Certificate; 
6. Certificate of Citizenship;
7. Motivational letter;
8. Two photos, size 6x4;
9. Health Certificate;
10. CIPS certificate.
FOREIGN CITIZENS
In order to enroll in the first year of the second cycle at IUS, foreign applicants must submit the following documents: 
1. Application form in which applicants must indicate the faculty and study program to which he/she applies (available at www.ius.edu.ba or at the Student Affairs Office);
2. Original of the diploma for the previous education and Certificate of grades achieved during the studies;
3. Official document for recognition of qualification for those who gained their degree outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina showing that candidates completed education adequate for continuation of studies, or document showing that recognition procedure has been initiated.   In exceptional cases, candidates can be admitted conditionally, before foreign qualification recognition procedure is ended;
4. CV;
5. Motivational letter;
6. Passport copy (with validity period of at least two years);
7. Two photos, size 6x4;
8. Certificate of no criminal record (not older than six months and only for foreign students who are doing residency permit through IUS services;
9. Health Certificate (for foreign students who are not doing residency permit through IUS services);
Candidates applying for admission have to submit one of the following documents to prove their English language proficiency:
a. Certificate on achieving minimum scores at one of the following international English language exams:
­IBT Internet-Based TOEF minimum 75 (in Turkey, taken only from University-run test centers*)
­IELTS Academic (minimum 6.0) (taken only from British Council test centers*)
* TOEFL/IELTS Test scores obtained from any other test center (Private Language Courses or similar) will not be admissible as proof of language proficiency at the International University of Sarajevo.
Upon receipt of the "ORIGINAL" score sheet from TOEFL/IELTS, student will submit the score sheet "IN PERSON" to the ELS Director for review and interview. Test-taker copy cannot be accepted as proof of language proficiency. The validity period for these scores is as stated on the Score Sheet.  
b. Diploma for complition of undergraduate or graduate program in the country where English is official language.
c. Proof of having successfully acquired at least 60 ECTS at English medium university, obtained no longer than two (2) academic years before the date of application at IUS (supported by transcript and other relevant documents).
d. Diploma from one of the following high schools:
- AICE diploma: Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education
- IB diploma: International Baccalaureate;
e. Proof that English language is native language of the candidate.
Candidates who hold FCE certificate with a minimum grade B2 are exempt from ELS Placement exam and can directly sit for ELS Proficiency exam.
Candidates that do not submit document proving English language proficiency will take Proficiency Exam organized by IUS at the beginning of academic year.
In case candidate cannot meet criteria used for determining necessary English Language proficiency, candidate has to attend English Language School in accordance to IUS regulations.
In case that insufficient number of students are admitted, the IUS may extend the deadline for submission of documents and publish amended  list of the admitted students by the January 15, 2019, the latest. First time applicants as well as those who have not applied before can submit their applications in the second call for the enrolment.
Applications which are incomplete or not sent on time will not be taken into consideration. 
Applications with the required documents are submitted in person (every working day from 9 AM to 4 PM) to the Student Affairs Office at IUS or via registered mail to:

Application deadline is September 21, 2018.
IUS will publish preliminary rank-list of all applicants and those who are admitted to the IUS faculties on the IUS notice board and IUS website after it is verified by the competent University body, within two days from the due date for submitting applications for enrolment. 
Applicants have a right to submit an appeal on the preliminary rank-list within three days from the day it was published. 
IUS will announce the final list of admitted students no later than five days after the preliminary rank list has been published. 
In case insufficient number of candidates applies for enrolment into particular study program, IUS reserves the right not to enroll students into that study program in 2018/2019.
