VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: Lab Technician II (1 position, m/f)

Position Title:

Lab Technician II at the Research and Development Center (RDC)

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, as well as experience working with database systems; 
• Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician or in a similar technical role is highly desirable; 
• Experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment; 
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken, is required; 
• Knowledge of additional foreign languages is considered an advantage; 
• A minimum of one (1) year of relevant professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and conducting experiments, trials, laboratory analyses, and testing activities; 
• Record, analyze, and maintain accurate laboratory data and documentation; 
• Demonstrate laboratory procedures and provide technical guidance to laboratory users when required; 
• Collect, prepare, process, and test samples in accordance with established laboratory procedures; 
• Maintain, calibrate, clean, inspect, and test laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and reliability; 
• Provide technical and operational support for laboratory activities and research projects; 
• Present findings, results, and reports to senior staff and management; 
• Keep abreast of relevant scientific, technological, and industry developments; 
• Assist in supervising laboratory staff, students, and interns, as required; 
• Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the implementation of laboratory safety procedures; 
• Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain adequate stocks of laboratory materials, equipment, and resources; 
• Design and perform laboratory tests in accordance with standard operating procedures, make observations, and interpret findings; 
• Record all data and test results accurately and responsibly in both electronic and hard-copy formats; 
• Assist in the maintenance, servicing, and procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies; 
• Ensure strict compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment at all times.

Reporting Line:

For the performance of their duties and responsibilities, the employee shall be accountable to the RDC Manager and the Rector.
